Yep, GORGEOUS truck with terrible design flaws. I'll never forget the first time I sat behind the wheel at the dealer. I damn near wet myself it was so nice! I have always babied it to death. Fast forward to today? I wish I'd never bought it. My youngest gets his license this year and I don't even want to give it to him I don't feel it's safe or reliable. Sad.

The fix came out at GM dealerships yesterday. Bulletin 15042, looks like the same resister p/n but a different wire harness p/n from what a GM mechanic said.

Well, the reliability issue I suppose could be argued (although mine has been no less reliable than any other vehicle I've ever owned in my 4 decades of driving except perhaps Toyota). But safe? Not sure what arguing could be made against the safety other than a possible fire from what is now being recalled (and actual fires due to the issue have been extremely rare).

I just came from my dealer here in town and they know nothing of this.
The GM web site still has "incomplete" concerning the replacement parts.

Can you elaborate on what you found out ?

Zach, a GM mechanic and H3 owner over on H4O posted it over there in the H3 section thread about the recall.

As bummed as I am about my moms hummer I tend to agree on reliability. Although only 60k miles other than the head issue, the inner tie rod, the heater resitor and radiator for a 10 yr old vehicle I guess that's not the absolute worst.

I did the head myself so it only cost me for the seat R&R, new exhaust valves and surface. Maybe I spent 600.00.... It still has a funky idle now and then even after all that. I should have replaced the lifters and still may some day.

On a side note I found my original invoice, I paid $38,856 + taxes and some odds ends we added like the video players on the head rests. My grand total was 45k in early 2006. I guarantee I am not the only one that paid that much back then from Sacramento Hummer. Is what it is, the dealer got what they asked there was no dickering at that time on price.
