Default Hummer recall - what the heck?

The whole A/C thing, we received a letter in the mail months ago and then we were to get another letter citing that the part was in.

Anyone know what is up with this?

Yes, you are correct, we are waiting for the parts to be made, distributed, and shipped to the dealers. The letter that will be sent out advising owners to contact their local GM dealer for the work won't go out until GM anticipates parts at the dealers within a very short time, like within a week or two before the first dealers are to get the parts.

And seeing how I personally have been waiting like 6 months since that first letter, who knows how long it will be before they tell us we can bring it in. Guess someone's car will have to actually catch fire before they speed things up.

Figures! After 3 burnt/replaced resistors, I just lost the last speed on my blower fan (#3) and now have nothing with winter setting in and no internal heat.
Do I wait for recall to kick in (not knowing when it will happen) or do I buy another one from my parts supplier.
Damn decisions.....

A picture of a BURNED UP H3 was just posted on another forum. It was posted and reported that it was caused by the wiring harness over heating...

Is this something new? I have an 06 and long ago they recalled the connector for the heater motor.. Or I thought they did it was years ago. Anyway mine took a dump at 20k miles but my warranty was up. Anyway I soldered my connections to eliminate the sloppy fitting connector which is why it burns up. Bad connection = heat. I've got 60k and many years on my repair with zero issues...

Cool

I called the Hummer toll number around Xmas. Got the same old story...."We will notify you when part is ready..and ANY GM dealer will do the fix at no charge". My '06 Lux doesn't get much use..(Now has 29K miles)..so I'm waiting a while longer...jv..
