I went up today with letter in hand saying that they had the parts, made an appointment to have it done. I was told to call before I showed up for the appointment because they had to order the part and weren't sure if they would have it.

I know that I don't need the letter for the recall fix, but if I wasn't a member of the online Hummer community, I would never have known about the recall issue.
I called Hummer in order to verify that my H3 was part of the recall. The first letter came out right around the time that I purchased my truck so I never got it. When I called Hummer, I was told that the letter will be sent to the registered owner of the truck. I just received my letter today.

Interesting. I bought mine just a little while before the recall was announced (June 2015), so maybe that's why they missed me on the first mailing. I'll be interested to see IF I get the letter now.

I never received the first letter but received the one saying that parts are now available. Called dealer this morning and they advised I had to stop by to open a ticket before gm would send the part. Stopped by and they confirmed the part would be overnighted. I go back Thursday to get the part installed.

Got my letter yesterday. My purchase must have been so close to the original mailing that I missed that one. Time to call and make an appointment; think I'll have them change out the trans fluid/filter at the time, too. I can easily do all the others (transfer case, diffs, etc.), but the trans looks like a real messy PITA.
