Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Alright I’m short on time today, so I figured I’d just look for low hanging fruit.

1. Bleed brakes - Check - seemed to work fine, however I may do it one more time to be sure with it running. Wish I could find a procedure.

2. Got a bit of gas and it started right up, then I took it down to fill it up (80.00 later)... it seems to be fine... no leaks or smells detected. Will watch this for a few to be sure.

And thats all all I had time for today. My weekend is booked with family stuff so no more work till after Tuesday.

Next:
1. Paint front and rear bumpers with bed liner... just want it to look better till fall. Then I’ll have them sand blasted and painted with some flex additive. I want to paint my skid as well.

2. I need to put my door panels back on. Trying to decide if I want to toss in some sounddeadner. I’m short on cash, so it may be a luxury I do without.

3. Install Amp power steps. excited about this one.

4. Drive it for a while then I’ll line up the rear axle to get painted too (need gear oil). I have a new trackbar, swaybar links, and diff cover (needs to also be painted).

Once I I get to this point I’ll start replacing a few other parts. Like valve cover gaskets (think there due). And sooner or later the dreaded header bolts. Someone replaced the passenger side... but not drivers. I usually do ARP studs and a flex gasket set.

Ok, I’m putting my door panels back on (no sound deadener). I did replace the clips so it goes on tight.

Im also starting the install of the power steps today. I can’t put the front door panels on till I get the power for the step trigger ran ( I do t understand why they didn’t tap into something inside where the door harness plugs in, but I’m sticking to the install manual).

i painted the bumpers with some rust Encapsulator and the top coated them with rust barrier frame paint and then huculi er. I’m not happy but it looks better than it did. And I think I want to go linex (metal only) in the fall so it doesn’t matter.

pics when I’m done. I still need to paint the rear axle and replace the diff cover and track bar...

Hello, I'm walking down the same path with my 05 suit. Did you ever discover what tool too use to remove the fuel line clips?

No tool needed. You are supposed to be able to push the wide white in and pull the clip off. If yours is like mine the clips are messed up or the metal has swollen inside and it will not release. On mine the pump had rotted out and I was able to get some pliers on the metal while I pushed the clip in and worked it around till I got it out. I also heated the end just a tad to remove the clip (as you see in my pics) so I could work on them). I soaked them and just kept cleaning till I got them apart. Then what I did was heat the line just a little and inserted the clip, and used a banjo style hose clamp to be sure it would be ok (I don’t think it was needed).. also on the bottom of the clip there is a small hole on each side... once you have put it back on the pump you can run a zip tie in one hole and out the other. And connect it. This keeps the clip button (white part) up so it can’t come off... for me this has worked fine. I still need to get some after pics. It looks awesome. I’ve added years to this H2. The power steps are on and I love them. I hated the tubular steps. And the other Hummer steps are way over priced for what you get.

Good luck. I hope I have helped you some.
