Air Bag ECU
If you have a Tech2 you will need to get the TIS2000 software running on a Windows 95/98/XP/7 (32 bit) pc working or do a short subscription to the ACDelco tech programming to reprogram things (the computer also needs a serial port to connect the Tech2 to transfer the programming). Its a fiddly process to get the TIS2000 software working right but once it is installed and working it is pretty straightforward.

"DTC B1001 is an indication that the restraints ID stored in both the BCM and SDM do not match. If either the BCM or powertrain control module (PCM) were replaced, the replacement modules need to be reprogrammed for proper operation. In addition, if the BCM or SDM were replaced, the vehicle theft deterrent (VTD) system will also need to be reprogrammed.
Inflatable Restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) Replacement
If the sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed in the following order:
•BCM reprogramming
•Theft learn
Programming the BCM
Important: After the procedure is completed, the personalization settings of the BCM are set to a default setting.
Perform the BCM special function "Request BCM Info. for SPS", then connect the scan tool to the SPS terminal.
Programming Theft Deterrent System Components
Perform the Programming Theft Deterrent System Components in Theft Deterrent after successfully finishing the Setup New BCM procedure. If the Programming Theft Deterrent System Components in the Theft Deterrent procedure is not performed after a BCM replacement, one of the following conditions will occur:
• The vehicle will not be protected against theft by the PASSLOCK system.
• The engine will not crank nor start.
Important: After programming, perform the following to avoid future misdiagnosis:
•Turn the ignition OFF for 10 seconds.
•Connect the scan tool to the data link connector.
•Turn the ignition ON with the engine OFF.
•Use the scan tool in order to retrieve history DTCs from all modules.
•Clear all history DTCs."

My PC is too new, the TIS2000 software will not load, it doesn't like my new IE explorer. and I need to wait for the AC Delco site to fix their shopping cart, apparently, they are having issues.
