I've been to Eielson AFB. I stayed at the base motel for a night. My Dad lived in Faibanks when he was a kid, all the way up into his late 20's When he died, I took him home and spread his ashes on a little over pass where you can see McKinnley on the way to Nenana.

Don't you have the free world's longest runway at around 5 miles?

 

I don't mean for this to be an A.F. conversation. My son-in-law is also A.F and is in Iraq. (EOD) So, I guess I'm still in the "family" I was just wondering what job you are getting at F.E.W.? I was a minuteman crew commander at Ellsworth. My parents used to live in Cheyenne. If you are comfortable at Eielson, then you will appreciate being in the lap of civilization as it is known in Wyoming.

As for the H3, and why this forum exists, I love mine. Power seems to improve as the engine loosens up. My milage is in the 18 - 19 mpg area. I have only had one real problem, the rear main seal leaked. That was repaired ASAP by my dealer. If you come back to the lower 48 thru Seattle. you might give McCann Cadillac Hummer a call. They have treated me very well, for a GM dealer.
