Was it a messy swap out for thermostat?
Possible causes for a P0118:
- Low engine coolant level
- Faulty Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor
- Faulty engine coolant thermostat
- Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor harness is open or shorted
- Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor electrical circuit poor connection

Default t stat??

if you get hot air and no overheating ,the t stat must be ok.
mine heats up in 5-10 minutes with hot air.

Welcome to HF.

Answer to what? This is why you should post a new thread with your question including year, model, miles and any recent work performed or symptoms experienced instead of tacking on the end of a SIX YEAR OLD Thread,

Default Temperature Guage quit

I have a 2003 Hummer H2. I put in a new battery and my temperature guage isn't working. It goes up as usual when I start then drops to 160 and stays there. What causes this?

Maureen..... welcome. I have to say, you have no clue how a forum works do you?????? You dug op and OLD THREAD even after I posted the quote above and provided the link to the request that people avoid NECRO-BUMPING! ..............and, you are asking an H2 question in the H3 section. See, this works like this, any question regarding an H2 GOES IN THE H2 SECTION, not here on the end of an OLD AZZED Thread in the H3 section. Wanna try again? How about asking your question in a brand new Thread in the H2 Section since I am now closing this thread.

Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.
