Drove many vehicles back in the day that never had illuminated window switches, some did not even have power windows. Managed to open and shut my windows without issue even in the dark. Still can.

Do the switches in my 09 illuminate? Got no idea, never paid attention because it is not important to me. I did buy some bulbs so when the day comes that I have nothing better to do with my time, I will investigate if I need to replace any.

 

Oh, does the master switch also toggle the light when locking the windows? I'll have to see.
I replaced the bulb in my master switch recently, no soldering needed.

 

I grew up with crank handles... I've driven my 3 with rear passengers,(kids, grand kids, dogs,etc...) and I can still operate ALL windows with the master switch, without cranking and no illumination required.
