You have a lot of questions? Is it parked outside under the sun? Restricted air flow? Try a garden hose and spray into your front grill, then check to see if your ambient temp sensor is accurate.

1 for a 5 minute test, max would take a lot longer to cool the amount of air you are pushing through! How much time and gas do you have? Get a thermometer in the vent so you can check temps, play with the air speeds and observe.
