2007 H3 with some weird issues
Hello all! I'm new here, brought my 2007 H3 home today and it seems to have a freaking myriad of issues going on. Traction control, ABS, and check engine lights are on. It seems to be throwing a false tire pressure light here and there, and I'm getting an oil light and alarm but only after idling for several minutes and it's intermittent- sometimes it happens, sometimes not. Error codes being read are: P0717 (input speed sensor circuit low voltage), C0186 (lateral acceleration sensor current), C0196 (yaw rate signal), and C0899 (control module power circuit). It has 195,758 miles on it. My door lights aren't coming on and my radio doesn't shut off unless I shut it off myself. Perhaps some of this could be BCM related? I drove it a decent bit to get it home, and it does not act like it has anything going on with the transmission. It shifts normally. I plan to just put it into a shop but I wanted to see if anyone has experienced this before and could guide me on what exactly I might be looking at! Thanks in advance.
Welcome to HF.
Does your H3 have a sunroof? Has the passenger side floor ever been wet? If so, do the fix for the clogged sunroof drains and then pull the passenger side kick plate to inspect the BCM and its wiring harness for corrosion, water intrusion, faults.
Are you still trying to use the Crappy Azzed OEM Battery Terminal Connectors? If so, hack them off and replace with a quality aftermarket set like Stingers or your favorite brand. FIRST mod to be done to every H3/H3T. Poor inconsistent battery connections alone can cause all or some of the problems you describe.

Don't just "check" the battery connections, REPLACE them with good units (if they are still the stock ones). H3s are extremely sensitive to even minor voltage variations that can result in a myriad of seemingly unrelated problems/issues.
Start with the battery terminals, but most if not all of your symptoms are quite or somewhat common. I've seen most of these on my vehicle.
Tire Pressure
The monitors in the wheels will eventually die and need to be replaced. I got the same symptoms as you until I replaced all the sensors.
Oil Pressure
Bad sending unit. Check for a small oil leak on the passenger side of the engine, right above the oil filter. Simple to unscrew and replace, but getting to it is a little involved.
Door Lights
Find and replace the bad switches in the door jams. Very easy job - one screw, unplug and replace.
Radio not shutting off
The radio won't shut off until a door opens, and if it does know a door is open, it won't shut off (see one above)
Traction control/ABS Light
These will come one with the codes you have. Sorry, I don't have a answer on these. Maybe battery connections, maybe BCM, but I'd check for all good connections if new battery terminals don't fix it. Just recently my dash would not power on. Checked all fuses, they were good. Pulled and reseated. No go. It wasn't until I actually CLEANED the connections on the fuse did it come back. Get some good contact cleaner and dielectric grease. CRC is a good brand.

Trying to save you some time and money as we JUST fixed error codes C0186 and C0196 in our 2007 Hummer H3. H3s are well known for those leaky sunroofs. Water comes in and settles on the bottom and causes the YAW sensor to go out. The YAW sensor is located under the carpet of the driver side door (about 5 inches from the door frame in the middle of the seat). When this goes out, the ABS/Traction sensor can no longer communicate with the EBCM. Part is not cheap. We found ours at a car junk yard - pulled the YAW sensor from a junked out H3 and it worked. All lights and warning gone. Hope this helps. (Must fix the leaky sunroof if you have one and have not!)
