Default Leaky sunroof. (not the drain tubes)

I have a 2008 h3 with the adventure package every time it rains I have a flood in my backseat driver side all the drain tubes are modified and wide open ..I took the headliner out along with the trim plastics and had a friend run a hose over the roof and confirmed it is coming from the sunroof and seems to be pouring over the sides of the drain trays again the tubes are connected and wide open .it's almost like to much water is getting in to fast could it be the seal around the glass even though it appears to be intact and fairly decent shape.

MOVED, the New Member section is not for tech questions.

Are you sure the drains are not clogged? How do you know?

Roof Rail Rivnuts and the roof Antenna are possible sources of leaks, otherwise it IS the drains. Just because you did the Sunroof Drain Fix, does not mean that crud can never plug them up again. The Sunroof Glass is not sealed water tight to the opening, the tray catches the water intrusion and the drains let it out. So if water is overflowing the Tray............... the drains are not doing the job?

Pour a large cup of water in the tray, see if it drains to the ground. Good luck.

Had this same problem. The issue is not the drain tubes, rather the connector at the front dash fire wall where the inside drain tube meets the outside drain tube. That little connector, when removed, has a cross in the middle of it that gets clogged. Remove this and use a drill to etch out that "cross" (this is usually meant to keep out bugs but I take the dry car over that any day!). Put it all back together and no more leaks!

I would say since that "connector" which has the cross section (X) is part of the drain tube, it is in fact an issue with the drain tubes.
