Who Converted to Springs From Air Ride
Ok H2-SUT ..Miscommunication ..L.O.L. No problem.... When I put the Springs in...I'd be happy to just give the pucks to you. No problem. However as I mentioned in my other posts, I'm going to let the problem play out. So I have no clue when the system will completely fail and drop on it's butt. As far as tackling the electronics goes, I was speaking of the Warning on the DIC about the A/R unit figuring out how to override it. As it has been also mentioned here that those Air in/ Air out vales on the compressor are plastic. And again there are no parts available to repair it or a complete compressor.
So for me to replace the bags or air lines, in fact that is the cause does not make sense as I'd still be dealing with a 16 old compressor. So spending money on bags and lines and labor and then having the compressor go is a waste.
It's smarter to go with springs...sell the compressor and get some money back for the springs and labor for install.
I think Mix Man's measurements might be the way to go for now. or search listings of junkyards to see if you could get a set. They are on line and I have used them. I remember a central site that puts out on a call to the yards. If they have it some one would reply with a email thru the main requester.

I can tell you first hand if my 08 had it I would do whatever I had to keep the system going. Anyway, they are a pain in the *** and can be ongoing problems especially if you don't have a Tech 2. Besides, coils are so much easier including keeping the front end aligned and perfect.
I will be building my own version using a Firestone HD compressor with a storage tank that will fit where the original compressor fits using factory bags.. The settings will be available in the cab but not tied to the BCM like the factory system.
No complications and it will give me the ride I want and adjustable height in the rear it just won't be an active system just passive. Plus it will be great with my little camper! Best wishes buddy, hope everything finds you well !
Thanks Mark, I think your on the right track. When back when I bought my 08 I contacted at least a dozen H2 salvage yard trying to buy the compressor, bags and harnesses as well as the module under the hood. None of them wanted to screw with it they said it would be to labor intensive to remove all the parts. Yup, I can understand why, the system is super complex. GM must have had an engineer on crack build this. Anyway, my 06 had air ride, my 05 coils. I didn't appreciate the air ride until once I had it now I miss it like you can't believe.

Build the complet compressor assembly on the stock tray that holds the original. Great idea. I'm at the age where I have to many projects and a bunch of electronic classic Vintage Stereo stuff to repair. Plus keeping up with my 1965 Corvette money pit. As long as the H2 keeps its rear end up I'm good to go. Just have to remember ...don't go past three days without out starting it..LMAO.
Keep us posted on your custom build.
Regards :Mark R
My H2 is in Dubai and I have to replace the air springs every 3-4 year because they get cracks in the rubber and start leaking.
And my mechanic says that it's 95% chance that it's the air springs (balloons) that's the reason when the correct level can't be hold.
