That's going to depend on the head unit, mine was black. I would consult your manual and look at the plug that goes from the back if your head unit to the wiring harness, or take a real close look at the wires and see if they're labeled or tagged.

Im gonna try and do what you suggested to do tomorrow. manually grounding the head unit. Is there anything else that I can try while I have the radio out?

 

i have a feeling that when people start cutting wires in a car that left the factory working,thats when troubles start.
