Cutting thru the BS?
Was wondering if you guys might be able to help me figure out if I am getting the straight poop, as it were from my salesguy. About two weeks ago, went in to get my new H3. Turns out that with everything I want, there are none available, has to come from the factory. Ok, no big deal, I am semi-patient. I am told that the exact H3 (color, equip, etc) is being built right now and will have the VIN # last Tues. Apparently the VIN# is the last stop before it is ready to ship to the dealer. Well, last Tues comes and goes and no VIN#, so no formal sales contract. Called Friday, was told the car was being painted (like they are tracking this particualr H3) and would have the VIN on Sat. Well, today is Monday and still no VIN. Salesguy says be patient, he is now told they will have the VIN sometime this week. I don't know, but my BS meter is registering. Has anyone had this happen? Again, I don;t mind a reasonable wait if I know I am getting the true facts. It feels like this guy is stringing me along... any opinions appreciated, have never tried to "order" a car. Thanks!
First of all the sales guy is just keeping you in carrot mode...He should have never given you a blow by blow run around..I don't believe the sales dept can honestly tell you anything until the delivery truck with your H3 is sitting outside the showroom window...Don't panic, it'll be here soon or later...You still have nothing binding..so hang
Yes it can happen they can track you truck threw the whole way they told my dealer i would have the vin # on a friday this was a while ago i call no vin# by the time i called three times and finally he said he has it and it be here on monday i thought he was kidding it was that friday before i called so i had three day to wait long three days
well worth it

Make sure you stay on top of it! I ordered an H3 on January 3, 2006. I constantly called my salesman to get info, but he just kept giving me the runaround much like yours. My vehicle arrived at the dealership on Febraury 12, 2006 and they sold it to someone else. The best part is they strung me along for almost 2 weeks before they told me it was "ACCIDENTALLY" sold to someone else. Be cautious and bug the poopoo out of your slaesman until he gives you the straight scoop.
You signed a contract (usually includes cash on your part) to get the vehicle and now you are a customer. I would escalate to the sales manager and express my concerns to that person. If they don’t resolve the issue, ask to speak to the dealership’s general manager or owner of.
Tell them the way things look from you side of the transaction. Be honest and cool. Firmness and resolve works better than anger. If another dealership is available to you, check with them. Good luck.
