When you say Jeep Wrangler unlimited what kind of JK do you mean? The unlimited could be an X, Sahara, or Rubi. If he has the rubi..then yes he could wheel circles around a base h3...if it's an X or sahara...then I just don't see it happening, sure having a SFA helps some but the axle is a chitty dana 30 and 35 front and rear....to get enough clearance to handle a trail as you describe then he will need a 3.5" lift to run 33's...and those axles can't handle much over a 33 without starting to break. The x and sahara have the NV241 T-case that has a crawl ratio of 2.72:1 which isn't all that special and not much lower than the base h3 crawl ratio...I dunno..just a difference of opinion I guess....but drivers bieng completely equal I just don't see a non rubi out performing an h3 in that situation....unless of course there is lots of articulation needed like sewie described.
NEVERMIND!!! I just read another thread where you say you are running a BF goodrich AT tire....if your always wheelin then I would recommend a tire meant for that
