thanks Doc.... I call the new one Leaky because it's been to FORD twice for an oil leak.... fixed finally after 2 new oil sending units and a new oil cooler..... but the main reason is that the AC blows so cold on it that it leaves a HUGE puddle under it..... The AC is by far the best I have ever had on any vehicle.... 42 degrees output on normal AC at 75 highway.... 60 degrees output after idling 6 hourson a 90 degree day....

I look at it this way, If it's WHAT YOU LIKE (low pro, 6" lift, etc.) and you can afford to do it....
MORE POWER TO YOU!!!!
Otherwise this would be ONE BORING PLANET!!!!
It's funny you joke..... I was doing a loadbank on a smaller Detroit..... and it was HOT....
I actually took pictures of the air temps at the loadbank, engine, and my van.....

I don't think an AC system from a First On Race Day would fit in Dear Old Dad's Garage Experiment....

and yeah.... it's awesome.... like nothing I have ever had..... on any vehicle I have ever had.....
I promise to take pictures of the puddle from the condesation next week.....

I'm not much for shiny things either, I use to be when I was younger, but not so much now, although I did get the steel front bumper letters. If they came in white, that's what I would have purchased.
As far as the awesomeness of the 4x4, I have no plans to take my H3 off road, that's why I didn't get the adventure package, even though I wanted it, I couldn't justify the extra money.
I bought my H3 because I love the way it looks. It looks different (better) than any other SUV's in it's class. Also, just because it's a 4x4 doesn't mean it's going to waste if you don't off road. I live in Cleveland and our winters SUCK. I've driven rear wheel drive and front wheel drive cars, but they were nowhere near as good in snow as my last vehicle, a Blazer. Last year we had a snow storm drop 2 feet of snow on us during the evening rush hour. It was coming down so fast the wipers couldn't keep up. I had to pull off the side of the highway in the grass, in no less than 2 feet of snow to get the ice off of the wipers. Had I been in a car, I wouldn't have made it out of that mess, but the Blazer drove right out, it didn't even slide. As long as I live in Cleveland I will drive a 4x4 SUV.

I happen to be in the same camp as HummBob (and usually don't say much because I know its the extreme minority) and enjoy the looks of the Hummer vehicles over the fantastic offroad capabilities. However, those capabilities do lend a nice hand in the wintertime here in Minnesota (maybe not as harsh as Manitoba, but winters are still rough!)
