Default Help me understand...

Now don't take me wrong, I ain't dissing none you homies 'bout yer blinged out whips, I just don't understand WHY anyone would take one of the most awesome out of the box, 4X4, off road rides and bling it up with double deuce dubs and the complete Mr. T starter set for HUMMERS. In my less than humble opinion there's nothing sillier than a HUMMER that looks like it's ready for a hard night of ghetto cruising. And on tis same rant if I may go on with the insanity....What gives with the soccer Mommies who are tooling around the mall parking lot in their new H2's and 3's? I know for a fact that these HUMMERS will never see any off road action unless they encounter a washed out pot hole on a side road. Help me come out of my little box and understand why anyone would four wheel drive to run the kiddies to school or to prowl the back streets of Detroit?

Maybe it's just me getting old but [sm=WTFsgign.gif]
I'm done now...I feel better

Second of all, not EVERYONE gets a WOODY 4 X 4'ing!! I Personally bought my H2 because I LOVE the way it looks, not for OFF ROAD CAPABILITIES!!! Different Strokes for Different Folks!!!

I ain't got any kids so I don't take them to SOCCER!!! Since I put the OEM wheels on, the four wheel drive is GREAT for the winter up here in Canada!!

Again, I wouldn't wear BLACK SOCKS with shorts/sandals, but SOME MIGHT!!

To each his OWN!!!

I don't mind some bling....I have expensive blingy wheels and beat the cht out of them.....as long as the wheels are less than 18" and your running a 35" tire that you can still air down to 12psi or so I have no problem with what the rims look like. I beat my chrome wheels just as much as someone that has cheap ugly wagon wheels....it just costs me more to repair/replace tehm after a tough trip in the woods. One thing I do not like...and Bob....no disrespect meant to you....Personalyl I don't like big rims and rubber band tires...IMO they look funny on a hummer.....but on a Chevy s-10 riding on bags and laying rocker...they look awesome.

I don't have a problem with his rant, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I know why some people like to bling the hummers, it looks cool. There is an H2 in town, chromed out, slender wheels... it looks kinda cool but I think it is a waste of money.

My H3 just got its rockers and I cant wait to get my front brushguard and winch, I personally want to get mine looking less "blinged" because I will be using mine for a lot of off roading where I live. I have yet to do anything serious because I don't want to go out myself without a winch.

The point I am trying to make is that there is nothing wrong with a blinged hummer or an all black totally decked out 4x4 one. Personal preference. I know a guy who got a Mustang Saleen that has more horsepower than anyone would ever need and he wants more, hes getting more mods done to it to take it over 500 horses. Who in the world needs that kinda power? Well, needs... no one. But he wants it, so I say more power to him.

Awsome gang. This is why a forum is so cool, and I enjoy this one. Debate, constructive criticism, sharing opinions. Great post ReelJeep. HummBob I'm all over what yer sayin. My 3 is like the Firebird in the Rockford Files (this show was in the 70s and if you have no idea what I'm talking about, just nod and smile), Plain Jane, minimal bling, stock 07 Adventure 16" chrome rims. I like it that way. I also like checkin outall sides of the wide spectrum on both sides of me.

Well... i might be even more plain jane! My window sticker had ZERO options!!! I had the dealer put a set of the Adventure tires on my stock rims... which actually made it so I really needed the side steps to get in (i have short little legs! LOL). So I had them put a set of the black ones on...

Actually regarding the soccer mom's who never go off road... You know, even if I never planned to take the H3 off-road I still might have considered buying one. It's really a very nice vehicle.... and it's price was also pretty good, considering the incentives right now... heck, I can't fault anyone for buying one just to drive around town in... LOL
