I'm thinking of those little lime green compact jobbies with all the fake carbon fiber,
bad graphicsand a 6 inch exhaust tipcoming through the bumper that sound like an angry bee.

I wouldn't expect to much from the exhaust. It's not a real dual exhaust. The only benifit is the higher flowing mufflers. As for the CAI, its already a cold air intake from the factory. You can improve it by adding the K&N high flow filter replacement. I have the PCM but haven't installed it yet.

I'd like to get an intake and exhaust, trying to decide which one. A buddy of mine who does performance upgrades says Volant intakes are excellent, but I read here that people get them with parts missing. I like the True Flow setup, but I read here about the rattle.
I didn't like the way the magnaflow exhaust sounds on the website, the flowmaster sounds great but I'm concerned about cabin noise. I'm seriously considering the gibson, but I can't find a sound file of the gibson at idle, they all have someone hitting the gas.
The GM touring exhaust sounds like what I want, but it's almost $800 and doesn't come with tips, that's just crazy.
I did the Airraid which I'll admit is a cheaper way to get some gains vs. K&N, Volant, etc. I knew my gains might not be as much but I was thinking that maybe I'd be getting 80% of the gain of a Volant for 50% of the price. I also have the Gibson exhaust. I really like the sound, nice rumble at idle and less money than the others. Tips aren't as nice as the ones I've seen on Magnaflow but again, good gains for less money. I don't have an unrestricted budget. [/align]

Does the gibson sound much much better or a little better than the stock exhaust?

I've read that the filter alone provided no HP increase at all, someone said they actually tested it. Everything I've read says the stock filter and intake tube are too restrictive, but that makes me wonder since the Airaid system only replaces the box and filter and people seem to love it. I'm going to look into the possibilty of enlaging the air intake hole on the box. Someone said its only an inch in diameter. Having seen it, it looks larger than that. I would be happy with a 3" hole. I modified the airbox on my CTS and opened it to 3". I just want to make sure by doing that, engine compartment air doesn't become an issue.
Vader, you are on to a good idea. We (you too) kicked this around a while back, I and HummerGuy were talking the same stuff, got to get more outside cool air to the factory box. https://www.hummerforums.com/m_75695/tm.htm If K&N doesn't do an 07 H3 app., I'll make my own pipe and look at another hose w/ outside air to the box.

Should increase some flow because the stock expansion chamber, and two rubber flex connectors are drags in the system. How much of an improvement to real performance, IDK??? However, I will run the stock system in the winter, where some warm air is ok and I'm not drag racing those ice/snow covered roads.

The way I understand the gain is with the filter and the tube, being less restrictive as stock. If I can find a replacement tube that fits correctly with the valves, I would like to install that and a new filter.

The systems I see that replace the tube has valves for the smaller tubes (clearly I don't know what they're for). Look at the one for the GM intake. The chrome tube has two small stems on it and comes with a smaller tube.
