I think you want to do the intake and possibly your exhaust first, then follow up with a PCM tune.

How they tune the PCM is dependent on your mods and will allow you to get the most bang for the buck out of 'em.

Go check out the multitude of PCM for Less threads......Most of your questions will be answered there.

I would agree with gunner. Considering that you might get the PCM tune down the road, you'd want it programmed to recognize the intake and exhaust. If you do the PCM now, you'd end up reprogramming it (albeit at a discount if you use pcmforless) again at a later date. I saw gains with each mod but most with the intake, but maybe just because it was the first. [/align]

these guys are on the money. PCM flashing should be done last...as everything else done has to be taken into consideration when the pcm is programmed.

So.....Between the CAI and Exhaust......

Which offers the most bang for the buck as a stand-alone mod?

How about ifdone in conjunction with a tune?

My opinion is that the upgrades would have about equal value in performance gains, or at least wouldn't be hugely different. So I'd look at the secondary factors. Money - intake is much cheaper than exhaust. Looks - can't see the intake while dual pipes looks great. Sound - my intake is mostly noticeable upon acceleration while the exhaust noise is more prevalent. Sound #2 - H3 sounds awesome with a good exhaust, intake you won't notice at idle.

So budget comes into play and then the bling factor of visible vs. non-visible, audible vs. non-audible. I think that if you could only do one mod I'd go for exhaust. Down the road I'd add intake and pcm tune.

That is what I was thinking.......Intake and tune...

I'll have to hear one of those exhaust systems in person......

If it sounds like an Infinity FX45/300Z or something along those lines.....Then yeah, I want an exhaust.

However, if they sound like a ricer....Man I don;t know......

I couldn't tell you from personal experiance as all I have done is the CAI.....I bought my dodge and gave the hummer to the wife before I could do anything else to it. Just from past experiancesI would say the intake and exhaust would be comparable to each other as far as gains, but would be better if run together...the old air in air out theory.

I wouldn't expect to much from the exhaust. It's not a real dual exhaust. The only benifit is the higher flowing mufflers. As for the CAI, its already a cold air intake from the factory. You can improve it by adding the K&N high flow filter replacement. I have the PCM but haven't installed it yet.
