camera mount location

Default camera mount location

Just wondering if anyone knows a better place to mount the camera for the VR3 backup camera, i have it on the license plate right now, but it kind of cuts off the right corner bumper on my h3. Just wondering if anyone has figured out a better place to mount it besides on the license plate, would be nice to use over the middle to to hook up to the boat. Would like to avoid drilling if at all possible.

I mounted mine in the spare tire hard cover. It's hardly noticeable.

Thanks. I like the elevated view too plus it's not exposed to all the grim where the license plate is.

Sometimes, having it low helps. I mounted mind on the bumper, just above the hitch. I popped the plastic off the bumper and used short bolts.

About to do the same mount with a BOYO chrome cam. I wanted to mount it at the top of the rear door, but the tire will cut off about 30% ....will report...

d vader....i love this location for the camera. i bought a liscense plate camera and it was off center alot but still good until it went out. i want to install one like you did. any tips to get thru the door to the inside of the bumper on the outside. this is where my other camera has a connect to the monitor.

If you take that sticker off where the hitch is,with all of the load weights etc, there is actually a hole pre-drilled there, i cut the wire on mine, had to re-connect everything, but it's much better than having to drill a hole in your vehicle, then I just used double sided tape to mount it...hasn't moved in over a year and it looks factory.

I Know mine is not the same as to the camera your referring to but this is where I placed mine.
