Default K&N Filter install

Hi I install a K&N air filter in my H3 but after a few kms drive I got off the car and press the lock button in my key fob, but I noticed the lock sound became a little funny, it sounded like a weak and dying cow! lol

What do you guys think happen? Does K&N air filter installation has anything to do with it?

BTW:
I noticed a very good first gear drive after the K&N installation on a positive note...

I can't think of any possible connection between an air filter change and the symptoms you describe. Sounds electrical.

I can say with 150% certainty that the two are not related! Lol

The only connection between the air filter replacement, and the lock system audible alert (horn) that I can possibly think of, is that during the K&N install, you may have knocked loose, or pinched and shorted, the horn activation wire. Check the plug going to the horn and make sure you have a good connection. Trace the wire as far as you can, and make sure you didn't compromise it in any way.

Also....first try honking your horn, and make sure it works properly. That way you'll eliminate the possibility it's defective.

Hi there Broken...

You are prolly right man. I drove my little girl to the nearest movie rentals just about half an hour ago and I noticed this time the horn is getting even weaker, a little too dark now so I'll check the electrical lines going/from the horn first thing in the morning and we'll see.

Thanks budz!

I'd just crank your tbars and ditch the nerfs and be done with it

But seriously I'd wager it's just the locking mechanism. They tend to get a bit noisy in these, some peoples rear tailgate door tends to whine pretttty loudly.

it's funny that you mention this because my horn has always sounded like a dying animal on the side of the road
