Buying An H3
#21
Thanks a lot, so at the end of the day, is there a big difference between the base and luxury other than the radio and leather seats?
For example, a base 2008 with 5k miles for $20k, or a h3x/adventure 2008 with 20K miles for 20K, which is the better deal? What are the main differences?

H3X could be ordered with the V8(Alpha) in 08 and I think 09. But never got the option of an Adventue(I5)/OffRoad(V8) package.

I just purchased an '08 H3X Alpha about a month ago. I went to several local dealers and drove about 10 different trucks that had nearly every possible option combination possible.
I ultimately decided to go with the Alpha becasue of the extra V8 power and the luxury options. While the V5 had acceptable power (some may disagree) the Alpha simply provided the extra kick that I wanted.
Keep in mind that if you decide to go for an Alpha, it will not come without a price. Even on the secondary used market, an Alpha will still cost you a minimum of $2,000 - $3,000 more than an H3 with the standard V5.
If you don't care about having the extra kick that the Alpha provides but want the "luxury" feel you can go the a standard "X" H3.
As with everything, it really depends on what is important to you. Even though GM made the boneheaded move to eliminate the Hummer brand, they were smart enough to provide enough different H3 models to appeal to just about everyone while they did make these amazing vehicles.
I hope this helps.
