One slight correction to Tainter's post. The Adventure package did not include the Monsoon stereo package in 2007, that started in 2008. Personally I'd rather have the aft storage compartment that you lose with the subwoofer but others will disagree.

I've never heard of an Adventure Package equipped H3 not having the Monsoon system. So you have the 4:1 T-case, Dueller 285s and rear locker but no Monsoon, Hmmmmmmm?

We had an 06 with the Base package and an 06 with the luxury package. Loved them both.

Now we have an 08 Alpha with the Offroad package and it's by far the nicest of the three.

Thanks a lot, so at the end of the day, is there a big difference between the base and luxury other than the radio and leather seats?
For example, a base 2008 with 5k miles for $20k, or a h3x/adventure 2008 with 20K miles for 20K, which is the better deal? What are the main differences?

Which one is more worth it, and what else would I have to add to a base for it to equal one of those packages? Thanks.

I hate to ask, but are you positive? My '07 Adventure has the Monsoon stereo and I don't remember seeing anything about that on the window sticker. I'm sure I have the window sticker somewhere around here, but I'd have to dig it up. From what I remember - '07 Adventure + chrome package (bleh) is all that's on there.

Depends on what YOU want and how you plan to use it. For me, my two requirements were '07 or newer and Adventure package. I take mine off road, camping, the occasional trail ride. I wanted the rear locker. If you plan to keep it on the street and want a bit more upscale with a better ride, you may want a Lux w/o adventure. I don't think leather, chrome, or sunroof are "worth it" to me even though I have the chrome package and sunroof. On the other hand, I wouldn't buy a H3 (or H3t) that didn't have the adventure/offroad package. Other people (ie my wife if she wanted one) wouldn't buy one without leather and sunroof, but couldn't care less about lockers.

With all the various options and packages it really comes down to i5/v8, cloth/leather, Base/Monsoon/Navigation stereo, locker(s) and tcase, sunroof and cosmetics (I'm lumping in 18" wheels here).

Once you decide on a couple basic options you should have it narrowed down pretty well. Some of these options are mutually exclusive.
