Default brakes problems/4x4 problems

hey folks, one last problem I had and I been looking for a solution online but no luck.

1- there are 3 4x4 options one that is standard and then one that have a lock logo with arrow up and arrow down.

my 3rd one with 4x4 lock arrow down when I press on it. it flashes few times and it goes away and doesn't let me select it, what causes this???

2- if I choose any 4x4 options. I notice that sometimes when I brake. the brakes are delayed like I press on the brake pedal and then after few seconds the braking happen. its not instant like it suppose to be. what might be the problem??

thanks a lot guys for helping me out. I been fixing the hummer to get it back to go again.

The one with the down arrow is your 4 Low. It can only be engaged when your transmission is in neutral and works best when rolling 3 or 4 miles per hour. The brake issue is unrelated. I suggest you read your Owners Manual. If you don't have one, it can be downloaded at Hummer.com

Fluid level, slide pins rusted, bad caliper, water in the fluid, etc.

But I did brake fluid flush and it still happens, how to find out if it’s rusted pins? And what are the pins? What about the bad caliper? How would I know ?!

The pins allow the brake pads to move back and forth. If you have changed pads you had to remove the pins.

And what about the caliper? How do you know if it’s bad ?
