Fun fact: decided to run over two speed bumps and now the "ABS" and "TC" lights are on. Go figure....lol

While I'm not terribly angry, I am frustrated. However, I'm glad this happened while leaving the bank instead of 4 wheeling or being miles from home. After initial inspection, no leaks; brakes still work; H2 comes to a halt; no strange sounds, etc. Will wait and see what happens as I drive it more.

 

I believe I have decided on a set of headers.

JBA 1850S-3JT

They are shorty headers. Ceramic coated titanium. I wanted black powder coated and tris is the closest I found. Needed to be ceramic AND powder coated black.

Ceramic for heat purposes...lower crazy high engine bay temps.

Black....for looks! Vanity...yes, given the lift, you can see the exhaust manifolds and I want things to match.

I decided to buy shorties instead of long tubes for several reasons.
1. Cost....long tubes are $800 plus. Decent/quality set $1,200
2. I don't want to redo/replace entire exhaust system.
3. Don't want to get a tune/tuner
4. Want a simple remove and replace
5. I don't care much about high HP #s on the H2 as I didn't buy it for that reason.
6. Most of the reviews I read were positive.

Now I will wait and see if Black Friday lowers the price to less than $470.99. Autoanything.com has the best deal this far.

 

Also found a small leak/seeping along the oil lines that carry oil from the engine to the oil cooler inside the radiator. The engine oil cooler lines have metal sleeves of sore that hold the rubber tubing over the aluminum/metal tube. Each line has 2 of these. Both lines have an issue. Autozone shows a replacement to cost $145. I plan to discuss a "custom" hose from O'Reiley's. The local shop makes hydraulic hoses. Will report back once I get a bid.

 

Well, an update regarding the fasteners I used. The driver's side has failed miserably as all of the white fasteners broke. The top section, the head piece broke completely off. The his only happened on the driver's side. Passenger side is holding just fine. Will try again on the driver's side.

 

I ended up buying the titanium ceramic shorty headers from JBA.

I also bought a new inside handle for driver's door since the current handle doesn't have a spring and rattles.

Also bought some clear cab lights and led red and amber bulbs.

 

The 17 inch wipes blades are just great! The old ones were 16 inch. My 17 inch work just fine.

 

I'm still having the ABS and TC light come on intermittently. May have to break down and get it checked out. Brakes still work fine...just the lights come on and off at random.

 

My shift lever from China finally showed up. Looks promising. Will report back once I have attempted install.
