Hey Tainter.......how bout the rocker panel, transmission and x'fer case protection (rock sliders).

 

From all of the information I have read and CEs I've seen those where dealer installed options.

 

I'm sitting here looking at my build sheet and window sticker.

My CE came off the truck with them. The rocker panel protectors are a line item in build code YP8 (CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION) and the trans protection has a separate build code VFX (TRANS OIL PAN PLATE PROTECTOR).

There is also a code on the build sheet :SHV ( HANDLING CHARGE SHREVEPORT ASM TO SPECIALTY VEHICLE ENGINEERING AMERICA) . I assume this was on all CE build sheets.......... but not sure. Any one happen to know?

 

Back in the day when you could get a new HUMMER at the dealer the Dealer Installed Options (rocker protection, UCP, brush guards, etc.) Where shipped in boxes inside the rig. They would be on the build sheet if they where purchased during the original sale or dealer order.

 

I was there when mine rolled off the transport truck ( after anxiously waiting for weeks ) and there were NO boxes inside! Everything was installed just as ordered. It may be an anomaly or there just might be some folks out there that are not as informed as they think they are????
