Default 2010 H3 Hummer possible purchase

I looked and test drove this Hummer, it has 73K miles on it. It rode ok rattling sound and it shakes when at red stopped in drive and sometimes in park. It this normal for this type of Hummer or there drive train/transmission issues. Their service dept looked over it didn't seem anything wrong. Should I go ahead and purchase this Hummer.

Shakes and rattles when stopped is not "normal" but it may be an easy fix like FireKeeper says. Did you notice if the idle appeared low?

My '08 Alpha with 105K miles is perfectly smooth; no shakes, rattles, or noises while stopped nor moving. No, it's not "normal", and I'd be inclined to find a different service department.

Was it an I5 powered H3 (3.7L)?

V8s do not run like I5s.

For someone who has never driven an I5 powered vehicle, it could be termed vibration at stop lights or in park. I5s are NOT inherently balanced, they have vibrations of the first and second order even using internal balance offset. It should not rattle or shake, but you can feel it in the steering wheel at idle and it disappears at higher RPM.

(why are there no "like" or "thumbs up" options for forum posts, can we get them?)

Cool

My 2007 H3 has the I5 engine and after rolling 80K miles this past weekend it still runs real smooth, no weird vibrations or misses. Look at the MAF and inside the throttle body. You should be able to see if it needs cleaning or not.
