does the rancho lift kit compensate for the axel angel by dropping the diff to set proper geometry? if not you probably need custom axles or the diff needs lowering.

This is a pretty normal angle, no? Thanks for the reply.

I'm starting to think I have more serious issues going on with this truck. I've only had it a coupe of months so everything is a mystery. Something has to be bent up front, bad mounts or something putting extra stress on the axles. I noticed old dry grease splatter on both sides when I first got it but didn't think much of it. Maybe this is why it had cheap/used mismatched axles when I got it. Probably just swapped out to get rid of it.

try contacting rancho they might have a better idea of what you need to look for or maybe some specs you can measure to compare wtf is going on.

Update: Cleaned up the area to see where the actual leak is coming from. Does this look like a bad install, bad part, or stress on the axle from the unknown?

Just my 2 cents almost looks like you took a point hit to the bellows/band.

I think you're right, they didn't install the bump stop that was missing and I do remember going over a few bumps that probably flexed the suspension just enough to hit a bolt or something.

maybe they used a crowbar and hammer to knock the axel into or out of the hub and it slipped off tearing the boot.
