Loud whistle then no A/C!

Driving down the highway {06 H3} and all of a sudden a deafening loud whistle for about 15 seconds, then no A?C! Where do I start? TYIA!~~~J

Look at the AC clutch with the hood open and see if it is engaged when the AC is switched on.

A/C sprung a leak. Inspect system to find the leak source.
