Will the L96 engine fit in an 06?
The firewall isnt an issue. Some guys swapped them and had the same clearance as the Alpha (hence why I said use the car intake). At worst, a 1" body lift will sort everything out.
when it comes to cost, be ready. If Id give someome my advice, and they were dead set on a 6.0/6.2, id say sell the H3, buy an Alpha and swap the 6.0/6.2 in it and sell the 5.3 they are removing. It would be a direct replacement, much cheaper than having to buy the parts seperately and way less hassle. Only need a tune to be done

I have a L96 in a 2006
No need to smash firewall just trim the sound insulation where the truck intake gets close. We also slid the motor forwards in the adapter motor mounts. Our swap is a little over the top being a L96 6.0L/ 6l90E and Np241 but we are into the swap at just under $10k at this point. Unless you are setup to do several swaps and have parts on hand, its much easier to buy an alpha.
