Default Engine swap from 3.7L to 3.5L

I bought a 2006 H3 with a 3.5L that I purchased for less than 1500.00 as a donor vehicle. Engine has 99k miles, it was wrecked head-on into a utility pole and bought with a salvage title as a donor vehicle for my 08' H3 Alpha. Engine still runs and transmission work as designed interior perfect (cloth).
.
I can purchase an 2007 H3 3.7L hummer with an engine knocking noise and owner just wants to get rid of it.

Is this a straight swap out? Swap the 06' 3.5L engine for the 07' Hummer H3 3.7L?

Has anyone attempted this swap-out?

Just want to make use of the 2006 Hummer H3 3.5L engine instead of selling the whole vehicle to the local salvage yard for 400.00..

I am selling the 07' H3 immediately, not keeping it. If this plan works I will sell the 0'6 H3 to the salvage yard without engine & tranny, cloth seats. I currently own an 08' Alpha which I intend to keep.

Any thoughts?

Did you use the 07' PCM or the 06' PCM? Thanks.

I re-read the reply and it seems you used the 06' PCM. Thanks

Get yourself an ebay account, test, strip, and sell=$$$$$$$$. Then sell the remains to the local salvage yard.

Looks like too many other entreprenuers have flooded this eBay space...although might consider when the swap complete.

Thanks for the idea.

There will always be a market for discontinued oem parts! Body & auto repair shops, +diy, are always looking for good working used parts. Switches, controls, modules, lights, etc.. Just know there's some money to be had before you send it to the scrap yard. Otherwise, the salvage company will turn your scrapped vehicle into a huge profit.

yes we just plugged the 2006 pcm in and it worked fine. No programming of anything been running it like that for almost 8 years. No check engine light issues and passed inspection fine
