Default Weird climate control issue

So not sure if this is normal or my unit is just messed up currently. So when the fan is on and the inside circulation is on the ac comes on without the AC button being on, and if it's not on max cold AC it blows hot air. I'm assuming that's not normal at all?

Page 171-172>>>HUMMER H3 Owner Manual

(Recirculation): Press the center **** on
the control panel to recirculate air inside the
vehicle and prevent outside air from coming in.
It can be used to prevent outside odors from
entering your vehicle and cool the air inside your
vehicle more quickly. Press this button to turn
the recirculation mode on or off. An indicator light
on the button will come on to let you know the
recirculation mode is activated.

Recirculation is available in the bi-level, and vent
modes. Recirculation is not available while in
floor, floor/defog and defrost mode. If recirculation
is selected in these modes, the indicator will
flash three times indicating it is not available in
that mode. When the recirculation mode is turned
on, the air conditioning will turn on automatically.

awesome thanks foe the assist. The only other issue i have is that when its not on max AC cold it will blow hot air even when the ac is on. Any thoughts? Example recirculation is on, ac is on bi-level and if it's on not max cold hot air comes out.

Try to recalibrate the hvac system:
•KOEO.
•Temperature dial FULL RIGHT.
•Blower control dial FULL RIGHT.
•Mode position dial FULL LEFT.
•Simultaneously press and hold the A/C and Defrost buttons until the LEDs start to flash
•Once the LEDs stop flashing, calibration is complete.

Super clutch hummerz, and at least the modules if need replacing are all the same part number woo-hoo thanks again! Looks like one of the actuators is messed up, you wouldn't happen to know which one controls the temperature?

the AC is always on.
it is used to dehumidify and used to blend the temp coming out the vents.
to disable the AC you need to push the button which is counter intuitive to what you would normally suspect.
like the symbol or light actually being an indicator that your are enabling the ac system.
the 2003 does the opposite... indicator off means the AC is on.
maybe that helps.since you did not understand. it should be in your 2003 manual.
