Mine is a 2006 H3 as well, GOHACK. Mine started leaking at about 59000mi. Dealer replaced it under my extended warranty.

Default Same situation on my 2008

Just for giggles, I peeked under the hood of my newly acquired 2008 (just got it last week) which has 15,000 miles on it. Seems as though this problem exists in the 08's as well. Very fine cracking lines appearing top right, and I do have a nasty gouge as pictured from the bracket under the fill cap. When I go for my oil change, in a few thousand, I'll speak to the dealer and report back.

If it's showing fine cracking lines, I'd bring it in ASAP. It should be covered under warranty.

if u feel good then thats all that matters
The technician put the foam in there, not me. Perhaps to absorb any possible vibration that could occur, thus loosening up the bolt. There's only one single bolt holding the top of the radiator in position, allowing it to possibly pivot as well, under extreme offroading.

The foam isn't so dense that there isn't any custion.

Cool

This forum was very helpful, thanks. I have a 2007 H3(x) and the same thing just happened to my radiator! I was quoted $818 plus tax...I currently have 50,450 miles on my vehicle. Needless to say after about an hour on the phone yelling at GM, Hummer, and my dealership, they are covering the cost of the radiator...but I still have to pay the $100 diagnosis fee...even though I just had my friend (mechanic at a certified garage) pressure test it and show me the crack on the upper right. BS, but I guess $100 is better than $900 right?

I have no clue what to do now....I have spoken with an attorney and they indicated that based on this website alone...and all the listed issues with (specifically) the 2007 H3's radiator, we have enough for a class action lawsuit. That may still happen...because if it broke in only 4 years, in another 4 years (when my warrantee is gone) I will have to pay out of pocket for this horrible design flaw.

Certainly, I would love to know just how many people have had this issue. Saying "I have 50 names" to Hummer sounds a lot better than "me and this other guy had the same issue"....etc...lol. Not sure how to track this...I do have a dedicated email address I set up for this issue, but I guess the moderators would have to let me know if that would be ok.

Default 06 h3 same problem

I just had the same problem with my 06 h3. and lucky me it happened at 90,000 miles with no warranty! $500.00 and 3hrs of my time it was back to normal.

Food for thought for any one wanting to take on this project alone. There are 2 oil lines at the bottom of the radiator DO NOT undo the new hardware from the new radiator until you get the new radiator in. And once you do get it in only undo one side first and put the lines and then do the other side. My old radiator came from together once both lines came out. One line has to remain tight to keep the part from moving!

Check and see what warrantees are on the vehicle. You can do that by calling Hummer (number is 1-866-hummer6) and giving them your VIN. Next, I would call the dealer if there is no warrantee and complain that the truck is only 3 months out of the dealership and they should fix it. If not, you should call the better business bureau and complain that the dealership sold you a Lemon. Threaten the dealership by telling them that you are going to report them to the BBB...that may make them give in. Good luck!

I would recommend contacting your local dealership for more assistance. I can also look into this further for you. In order to do so, I will need some more specific information from you. If you could please send me your full name, address, phone number, the VIN for the vehicle, current mileage, and dealer name via private message, I will be able to take further steps. Thank you again and I look forward to hearing from you.
