Default Pump rub for transfer case?

I’m replacing anything rubber on my H3 alpha as it’s 17 years old. I’m having the transfer case dropped to change all the seals and while it’s out, I’m wondering if pump rub is a common issue and if I should get a pump rub kit to prevent it.

Is pump rub a common issue?
Is there a pump rub kit available?

I have never heard of any H3 Pump Rub issue. My Alpha is 16 years old and I never fix stuff that ain’t broke. H3s don’t use Silverado T Cases.

I’ve got 50+ year old Oldsmobiles and their rubber/ gaskets are just fine.

Good luck.

This photo may help you understand the H3 Tcase pump. The only place it contacts the case is here. Very solid part of the case. I would replace the Tcase pump filter while it is apart.
