I purchased my 2008 Alpha H3 adventure package about 6 months ago after being one of those "jeep" owners. Everyone has their own style and needs for their type of 4 wheeling. I wheel a lot on Colorado mountain passes and don't hit the intense trails some do. Would rather see the beauty not many other have and don't really care if my Alpha will climb a rock the size of a volkswagen as I'm sure it will. Maybe i'm too old to cause myself another heart attack....not that I haven't anyway. My H3 is going to last me a long time. I spent a lot of time browsing forums and did want the best of what I needed and these guys are a phenomenal source of info. After picking and choosing what I thought was important to me. I added the following.
1) replaced all belts, fluids"all synthetics" brakes and rotors, iridium plugs and a lot of elbow grease to bring her back to out of the factory quality.
2) 23.5" torsion bar lift
3) oem rock rails and UCP
4) 305/70/16 duratracs. And of course Bilstien 5100's all around. Same height/ no speedo adjustments
5) hidden winch bumper with m8000 warn winch
6) molle panel for rear tailgate with molle bags including military field first aid kit, water, etc. also makes a great wine and cheese table.
7) k&w air filter
8) costar/bluestar Bluetooth hands free and audio streaming.
9) Lots of misc. stuff including highlift jack and actually to much to mention. OK ....lots of stuff....

As info/ with all of my add on's and lift, my mileage dropped from around 19mpg to closer to 17mpg.... But a common theme has been..... Who buys a Hummer for great mileage
