Is there a way I can put something during oil change to clean that area incase if it stuck it losen it again ?

which is not so where does the oil go? I cleaned the VCT ports on the valve cover with strong compressed air and I am gonna go under the truck this weekend and check for any residue but any other suggestions or ideas on where also to look or what may be the problem ?
