Default No Dome lights when back is open

So I have a small issue. If no one knows it’s fine. But when I open the back hatch the interior lights don’t come on. It also happens with the rear passenger door also. I replaced the switches for the doors thinking that would solve it but no. It’s only those two doors. The other doors open and the lights come on. Any idea?

STOP throwing parts at it, it won't change the concept.

Year of the H3 and Model (Base, Adventure, Lux, Lux Off Road, etc....)? They have different dome lighting, my 09 Alpha Off Road has three, the 07 Adventure had two.

You could start be reading your owner's manual. If you do not have one, they are all on line free.

I noticed my middle dome light didn't work because the the bulb was burnt out. Had to replace the Map Lights in the front as they were burnt out as well. Whoever owned this 09 before must have left the door open a lot and/or read a bunch of paperwork?

Easy stuff first.

thanks for the reply doc. It’s a 07 adventure. The bulbs are fine because they come on when I open the driver and the driver passenger and the front passenger doors. It’s just the rear on the passenger side and the back hatch. I could careless about the passenger door. Just be nice to get the hatch working.

Open the door, grab the jamb switch and wiggle it a few times and see if they come on. The switches corrode and break often. They are cheap, less than 5$ I always keep a couple in the tool box.
