Hi All,
When I open up my rear tailgate, my interior lights don't come on....should they? I just noticed this and haven't really paid attention to it before....Any suggestions?

Mine comes on when I open the tailgate. Do you have it set to come on when you open the doors? If so I would say that it is a bad sensor or bad connection back there in the wiring.

 

I do have it set to come on with door opening...When I open the side doors the lights do come on, but not for the back..Looks like it isn't a simple question and may require taking it to the shop (OH NOOOOO).

 

Funny, I am experiencing a similar issue. For a while, my lights would not come intermittently on when opening a door. Now they won't come on at all. I am able to turn them on using the dimmer **** on the dash, so I know that part is working. Hate to say it, but it looks like a dealer trip. I have no idea how to troubleshoot this one . . .

 

Called today and they said BRING ER IN.....Said it is a common problem with the H3 and the rear latch mechanism...FYI
