Default Never overlook the simple things

So about 6 weeks ago I had the accelerator assembly replaced and have been a little suspicious of the dealer that did it and have been on "high alert" About 4 weeks ago, everytime I opened the garage door there was a smell that I would describe as ether or poorly combusted fuel. I would smell this for a few miles in the morning on the way to work, but it seemed to be more noticeable after the truck was confined in a small space. It has gradually gotten stronger and i also began smelling it on my golf bag, which i carry in the back. So i began trying to what the problem could be. Runnning rich after the pedal change for some reason, leak in the exhaust system somewhere and getting into the cabin were both pretty high on my list.

On my way to play golf thursday night the smell was very strong and I decided that i had had enough and was going to call the dealership on friday

When I got to the golf course I pulled my bag out and was arranging some of my things to put in it. I unzipped the large pocket to stash a gatorade and the entire inside of the pocket was covered with a funny, off-colored, powdery looking substance with an indesipherable sphere like object sitting in the bottom. My mind raced; what the h*** is this and who is pranking me!! Then all the pieces quickly fell into place.

You see, i had placed an orange in my golf bag not long after the accelerator pedal was replaced and subsequently forgot about it. Over the last few weeks it had started to decay and release ethylene which filled my garage, where i keep my bag, and the truck because i leave the windows down when I park it.

So, orange removed, and 1 disgusting golf bag later, problem solved. I'm just glad I didn't get myself into a battle with the dealership over it. lol
