Default Simple!!! Tire rotation question

Hey all,
IPlan on having my tires rotated this weekend. Do the tire pressure gauges (on dash) need reset each time the tires are rotated? I put custom rims and tires on about 4 months ago and had to reset the gauges (what a pain, running around the car and waiting for the beeps etc. etc.). Just wondering if I will have to do this again following a simple rotation.
Thanks,
Machines

If you include the spare tire, yes, you will have to reset otherwise you shouldn't need to. I believe 08 H3s don't have TPMS in the spare so if that fits you then you may not want to include the spare in the rotation (assuming you bought five new tires/wheels). Non-TPMS wheels have a rubber valve stem vs. metal for TPMS equipped wheels.

I have an 07 and don't plan on rotating the spare.

If you replaced the original valve stems (where the sensors are located) into the new wheels yes, you will have to do the Chinese firedrill to reset your TPMS.

Why did GM even put a tire pressure sensor system in these vehicles?? Can you not tell you have a flat?? What a stupid idea, imo.......

As I understand it, ALL 2008 cars are required to have TPMS per the government. Remember those rollovers a few years ago from tire separation? Those weren't necessarily flat tires, just low. And obviously people don't check their tires. I'm not saying I'm pro or con on the legislation, just giving some background and perspective. (You can tie that legislation to Mr. Hillary Clinton)

I was glad mine had them. It was late afternoon on day before Thanksgiving, got in my H3 ready to start driving to see the family and the dashboard lit up telling me I had a tire pressure issue. Got out of my H3 didn't see any problems, it wasn't until I got closer to my rear tire did I hear the air rushing out. Somewher I picked up a nail, I was close enough to a dealer who was still open, had the tire plugged and patched before it even went all the way flat.
If I didn't have that sensor I wouldn't have known until the tire went flat, would've had to jack up the truck, change to the spare, etc. It saved me a lot of time and energy and I got to see my family on Turkey Day as planned.
