Default Heater Intake Pipe.

I blew a hole in my heater intake pipe, part # 12564053 and the part is discontinued. 3 different parts houses tell me the part isn't available anywhere in the country. Does anyone know if a like part from a different vehicle is workable? It's a 2006 H3. Thanks

How did you blow a hole in the inlet pipe?

Although it's called a heater inlet pipe, it's actually a hose that moves hot water and is situated behind the manifold, and like many radiator hoses, it split.

Is that thing metal? How much pressure do you have in the cooling system?

Can you cut it at the split can clamp on a hose?

I believe it is metal. My mechanic removed it as it had split, and with a grinder, epoxy, and whatever else he may have used got it closed up and back in and working, I'd just like to find another alternative if it happens again. I would think another GM product should fit, if not perfectly, at least usefully, and figure someone here may know as I doubt I'm the only one who's had this problem. It's working for now, just trying to get in front of next time.

If it's metal can't it be welded?
