I know H3 is ok to tow 4500 lbs. but I need to tow 6000 lbs a short distance with an equalizer hitch will this work?

There's only one way to find out. Stay low and slow.

I a short distance more than a couple miles with no other traffic to be encountered? You planning on Denzel Washington driving that load? There are other people on the road to think about.

Rent a capable pick up or HD Van for your short distance and avoid beating the crap out of your H3.

Wait till you hook it up to your I5 and ask it to move or stop, you will then get what I am saying.

1,500lbs overweight.
I wouldn't.
WD hitch is still only for the max tow rating. Not used to exceed it.
