H3 no dash lights, no crank
Good morning everyone,
My Dad purchased an H3 about 5 years ago and about a year ago he began having difficulty getting it to start. To me it seemed like it needed either a starter or a starter solenoid since all the dash lights properly illuminated and the fuel pump sounded like it was delivering plenty of pressure. However, he took it to the shop in which he bought it from and they replaced just about everything except the starter. They replaced the Body Control Module, Ignition Switch, and the ECU before giving up and telling my dad they didn't know what to pursue next. Now I have started playing around with it to see if I can get it to start, so I put a fresh battery in. When I connect the battery, the stereo comes on and remains on regardless of key position. When I turn the key on, no dash lights illuminate, however the airbag light does illuminate. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Would absolutely love to see this thing run again.

While I appreciate your situation, you have not provided enough information to begin troubleshooting.
Various members (Hummerz, Doc Olds, Tainter and myriad others) are fully capable of assisting you BUT they will ask for more definitive facts.
Let's just discuss the first things that come to my mind:
A. Have you replaced those nasty original battery terminals with a high quality product like Stingerz?
B. Why did the shop replace the original BCM and...was it properly installed and programmed?
C. What about fuses? Have you checked any?
D. What printed information do you have in hand regarding your previous steps to remedy the issues?

If it sits outside, never had the sunroof drain fix done to it, never had the sunroof drains (maintained) cleaned out, I'm thinking odds are it got wet.
Wet and BCMs do not go together, they do not play nice. Cause a bunch of Gremlins, radio stuck on, wipers going on or off without touching any switch, flashers activating, interior lights getting stuck on or off, no power to parts of the truck, the list goes on and on...........
Now, if it has stayed dry since the replacement BCM, then it might be harness or BCM connection corrosion. If it has been sitting a long time, I would inspect the fuse box for corrosion.
I would avoid the shop that threw parts at a problem they never were able to diagnose then gave up after taking your money to the bank. They do not have any mechanics there.
