Take a good look where the exhaust ends in relation to the bumper, the plastic bumper covers melt with exhaust heat if the outlets terminate too close under/behind it. Just be aware of it and check it out. You don't need fancy GM tips, you can use a short angled cut piece if you think heat will be an issue.

 

Is this just a bolt on item or do I need to schedule a trip to the muffler shop to have it installed??

Just bolt on from what I see.

 

You could if you like them, but they would even be more likely to get snagged/crushed from behind. I was thinking a straight short angle cut single wall tip.
