What Doc said along with plugging in a compatible bi-directional scan tool that allows crankshaft angle position error (case) relearn/reset, whatever you want to call it. Just followed the scan tool prompt which involved revving the engine to 4000rpm etc. until it said success or you're out of beer. I'm not sure if there's any other way without the tool, but I believe it's recommended anytime you replace the crank sensor.

Just when I thought the problem was solved, had another crank no start after heat soak. Given that I've replaced pretty much everything I shifted my focus on the ignition switch per hummerz recommendation, rather than cleaning it, I just replaced it to make sure. Problem persists. No issues starting when cold (most of the time) and no issues starting when hot (all the time) sitting and letting truck heat soak for 10-20min and it hesitates to start (sometimes). I'm starting to think cylinder #5 is toast, which tracks with my previous symptoms over the last few years, truck running hotter than normal, low oil pressure, etc. adding external cooler for the transmission helped mask the symptoms, but didn't fix the root cause which was likely low oil pressure leading to cylinder 5 running hotter than it should, causing rings to wear more than others, eventually leading to low lower compression.

What it does:
  • Removes deposits: Uses detergents (like PEA) to break down and clear carbon buildup on injector nozzles, intake valves, and combustion chambers.
  • Restores fuel spray: Cleans clogged injectors so they spray fuel in an optimal pattern, ensuring proper atomization.
  • Improves combustion: Leads to more complete burning of fuel, reducing wasted gasoline.
  • Lubricates system: Some formulas also lubricate the fuel system, reducing friction and slowing future buildup.

Key benefits:
  • Better fuel economy: Corrects inefficient fuel delivery, saving gas.
  • Restored performance: Fixes poor acceleration, hesitation, and rough idling.
  • Smoother operation: Eliminates stumbling, misfires, and stalling for a smoother ride.
  • Reduced emissions: Cleaner combustion leads to lower harmful emissions.

When to use it:
  • As a maintenance item, periodically (e.g., every 1,000 miles or as recommended).
  • When noticing symptoms like reduced MPG, sluggish acceleration, rough idle, or engine hesitation.
  • For modern Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engines, which are prone to carbon buildup, a specific GDI cleaner is often recommended.

My fuel injectors are brand new, I'm gonna try seafoam in the tank and see. Thanks 👍🏻

Sea Foam doesn't have PEA in it, just to be sure.

Default misfire

I had a nagging intermittent misfire on my 2007 H3. After replacing coils, plugs, testing all the injectors, doing the Seafoam top engine clean and super injector flush, checking the intake gaskets, I started going through the wiring harness to the coils, starting at the coil and following the individual wires down. All the conduit was disintegrating leaving some wire exposed, there was one tiny nick in the power wire
for #2 causing it to ground out on the valve cover and cause the misfire. Super annoying going through all the wires but it feels so good when you find the problem. Cost like a dollar to fix it with some heat shrink.

That was going to be my next stop as I'm still misfiring despite all the stuff. Cylinder 1 looks like already had the connector and wire replaced at some point.
