Default Anybody tried Flowmaster Outlaw on H3?

New Hummer H3 3.7L owner (Literally 1 day). Definitely looking to get a bit more out of the exhaust on this truck. I’m coming off a 5.7L Tundra so it’s comparing apples to oranges but I’m curious if the Outlaw fits and if it sounds ok.

Welcome to HF. I MOVED your thread as all H3 questions go in the H3 section.

I am sure somebody did somewhere. The question would be why? If you are going for the fart pipe sound, OK. If you are going for a throaty sound, look at a CAT Back system.

I say that primarily because the I5s do not growl like a V6 and they do not thump like an 8. They buzz almost like a straight 4 or 6, because they are a straight block.

Many have done resonator or muffler deletes looking for noise. The muffler is in the back, the resonator is in front of the rear axle. Search them out. I know a couple even took off both and ran a straight pipe out the back. Not my bag.

I had a MagnaFlow Cat back on my old 07 for almost 12 years before I sold it. Was a bit loud when loaded on the Highway, especially with a couple Kayaks on a rack on top. I liked it, but I like the MagnaFlow Cat back on my 09 Alpha much better. Just the difference in sound created by the engine configuration.

Yeah, I’ve noticed the difference in the some cars on YouTube. Definitely not looking for a farty sound lol. Straight pipe wouldn’t fly here in CA as I would have to adjust every 2 years to pass smog inspection. I’ll look into the Magnaflow Cat back.

Thanks very helpful. Some videos in there I hadn’t checked out yet. Tough call.... lots of variations.
