Thanks Hummerz - that's helpful. Do you know if there is a way to buy just the connector housing separate from the entire harness?

First thing, if you melted a connector there's high resistance caused by corrosion/contact failure in the harness. Replacing the harness and clean/grease the contacts corrects one side of the connection to the RD/BL, then there's another connector that splits to 2 more connectors. Go to your local>>> NAPA to match, Echlin produces a HUGE variety.
