Default 2008 H3 3.7 oil pan removal

I have a 2008 H3 with 3.7 5 cylinder, I have used search tool and not found post/thread. Can you remove the oil pan without pulling engine and or removing front differential?

I also have a 2008 Hummer H3 with the 3.7 5 cylinder. When I crawled underneath it today, I discovered a small hole in the side of the oil pan. I am also trying to figure out if the oil pan can be removed without pulling the engine out.

The Oil Pan and sump will not clear the front diff. You can loosen all the bolts but the pan will only drop about 3/4" or less before it sits on top of the diff and other stuff around the cross member. If you want the pan out to replace, you could leave the engine in and remove the front diff as I do believe that would create enough room.

I wonder if any of these brilliant design engineers have ever worked on the vehicles they are responsible for? Back in the 60's, Jaguar had to replace numerous XKE engines because an idiot decided to simply "recline" the radiator. Of course, this didn't work out so well in hot climates! They soon decided to "fix it" with electric cooling fans that used Lucas connectors! Lucas became known as "Prince of Darkness" because the Lucas bullet connectors would separate! YIKES! The same thing happened with the electric cooling fans! Imagine that! Oh well...
