I just finished up some frame re-condition, and some component replacement up front. My 08 does have somewhat a pronounced rake and seems to set a bit lower then my 06 did but it had air suspension so I am sure there are differences there.
My question, I had replace both frame bump stops in the front, one was completely crumbled and shot and the other wasn't looking to healthy either. After installing them I noticed when parked on a level surface the front bump stops are very close to
resting on the bump stops. I would like to know if someone could check there's and tell me how much space they see between the bump stop and the control arm. Also perhaps measure from the center of the tire on the ground to the bottom lip of the fender trim.
I am sure there are some specs in the shop manual but I currently dont own one. Thanks

from what i heard they're supposed to rest on them. mine are shot but all we have on the front are shocks, not struts and bump stops.
Hi, I have heard that as well, my 06 with air suspension had about 1/2 inch clearance and it rode really well. The 08 (rear coils) are resting on the bump stops, the 08 without a doubt does not ride as good so I thought this might be the issue.
I would like to know if there is a factory spec on this. I do plan to replace the factory GM front shock with some new Bilsteins ( I had them on the 06 and they were really good) Either way I need to get my hands on a set of service manuals to
get this answered once an for all. I also need to find the Z height specs for the H2 to properly set the front suspension height (See attached picture, this is for a 4wd GM truck)
