I put a Duralast platinum H7 AGM battery in mine. I know it's not really what you're looking for, but 850/1000 spins my 08 over really well. The battery box/tray is plastic and I just shaved off the tabs on the L and R sides. Took maybe all of 5 minutes. I think the platinum is 2 or 3 years for the warrenty too. This battery cheaper than the one it called for. Lol, no brainer! Hope it helps you out. Good luck.

Nice, I was wondering how you got it to fit, grinding the tabs off the battery sides was a great idea and the H7 ratings are about 100 cold cranking amps higher then the H6 looks like a good upgrade! thx

That DEKA battery is one of the best there is. High quality, USA made.

Basically all batteries in the US are made by East Penn, Johnson Controls, or Exide. East Penn's house brand is Deka but they also make Duracell (sold at Batteries Plus Bulbs) and Napa batteries and probably a number of others. I know Interstate are made by Exide. Not really sure on other brands but odds are pretty much the majority you can find are made by one of the three.

Not exactly my idea, but it was way easier than I thought it was going to be. It's only plastic, like cutting plastic.

In 2019, Johnson Controls sold its Power Solutions division to Brookfield Business Partners, launching:>>> Clarios
